TogglePartick's BRP favorite – Snow Shoot 2020
Expedition Extreme
I just got back from West Yellowstone in the state of Montana. We tested snowmobiles from all manufacturers including about 20 different BRP models. At the end of 5 full days, the Extreme Expedition, which is a unique snowmobile, was my favorite BRP.
To give you an idea of my type as a snowmobiler, for the last six years I have only been doing off-trail snowmobiling at my cottage on the Monts-Valin. The ten years before, I used to do between 12 and 14,000 km of trails per season.
As soon as I sat on this superb snowmobile, I already felt comfortable. After a few kilometers, we arrived on a very sinuous trail with many bumps. In front of me, there were two trail snowmobiles, to my great surprise and without difficulty, I followed them. We must not forget that the Extreme Expedition is a utility vehicle, not a trail snowmobile!
We also did some off-trail tests in the beautiful Rockies, there was a lot of snow (WOW). I felt as comfortable on the Expedition as I did on my Summit X 165''' 2019. This Ski-Doo makes side hill without any problem, it back up perfectly in very deep snow with its 20 inches wide by 154 inches long track! It is also enjoyable to lift the skis if you wish thanks to the 850 CC E-TEC engine of 165 horsepower.
What makes this snowmobile so versatile is its new G4 chassis, which centralizes the masses and has a narrower seat than on the old platforms. This makes you feel as if you were sitting on a 16“ trail snowmobile.
For 2020, Expedition snowmobiles have 25 LinQ accessories designed for this model. When combined with the new Multi-LinQ panel on the back of the snowmobile, it’s incredible. This way, all LinQ accessories for 16” snowmobiles can also be installed, which brings the total number of accessories to more than 100. This incredible number of accessories available is unrivaled in the competition!
You can pull 1500 lb with the HD bumper and the new “Easy Shift” transmission. Not playing with a handle when you want to put the snowmobile in reverse is great, just press the start button, and the snowmobile goes backward.
So, if you’re looking for a snowmobile that performs exceptionally well on and off the trail, all you must do is purchase the great Extreme Expedition. It will help you do all the work you want to do. No problem, you can bring your sleigh to the chalet, and you will have the opportunity to have fun on or off the trail. It is new in the snowmobile world to have this versatility. I highly recommend it.
