Open House on February 11th and 12th in all of Quebec’s 207 snowmobile clubs

33,000 km of trails to discover at no charge!

Open House on February 11th and 12th in all of Quebec’s 207 snowmobile clubs

An initiative of the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ) and its 207 member clubs, the first edition of the Open House event will see snowmobilers get free access to the world`s foremost snowmobile trail network on the weekend of February 11th and 12th. This marks a golden opportunity to sample and enjoy an ever-growing recreational activity.

Conquering new horizons

While many québécois are familiar with our wonderful trail network, many others have not yet had the privilege of discovering the tremendous pleasure that emanates from experiencing our majestic winter landscapes via our world-class trails. This event will provide the opportunity for snowmobilers and club volunteers to share their passion with numerous participants, engaged in the discovery ofnew areas in every corner of the province. More than 33,000 km of trails await those who will partake in this ground-breaking event, all accessible at no charge.

As many will take advantage of this opportunity to become initiated with the joys of snowmobiling, the FCMQ wishes to remind everyone that:
• the owner of the snowmobile must be the holder of a public liability insurance policy with a minimum coverage of $500,000;
• all snowmobiles must be registered and licensed;
• the minimum age to operate a snowmobile is 16. In addition, drivers aged 16 and 17 must have a valid snowmobile operator`s permit;
• you should always keep right and stay on the trails.

The way of the future

Eco-friendly snowmobiling is an underlying theme of the event, as evidenced by the selection of a Ski-Doo 600 ACE model as the official snowmobile. Designed from the outset to raise the bar in cleanliness and quietness, the high efficiency Rotax four-strokeengine has earned a reputation for unparalleled fuel economy.

Win a snowmobile dream vacation!

Visiting the www.freesnowmobiletrailsfcmq.com Web site will not only provide you with additional information about the Open House event, it will also allow you to enter our Snowmobile Dream Vacation contest! You could win a 5-night package for 4 persons at the luxurious Fairmont Le Manoir Richelieu, valued at $4,500.

Those wishing to take full advantage of the wonder that is our québécois winter can, just as our 90,000 members do, purchase an annual trail permit, or possibly opt for a 1, 3, or 7-day permit instead. The purchase of a trail permit contributes to the maintenance,development and safety of the trail network, lending precious support to the volunteers of the FCMQ`s member clubs.
