While all the snow this year might be a little more than most of us were
hoping for, it doesn’t bother area snowmobilers, especially Chris Heppding.
Heppding has been riding snowmobile for as long as he can remember, and in
2002 combined his love of snowmobiling and the love of competition by
competing in sno-x racing. Heppding has been working hard ever since then, and that hard work has earned him a spot in the upcoming ESPN X-games.
Heppding received an invite to compete in the Adaptive Sno-X races on
January 27-30. Heppding has had to overcome a lot to reach this point, not
only in the racing world, but in everyday life. Heppding suffered a spinal
cord injury at the age of 7 in a car accident, causing paralysis in the
upper right side of his body. That has not slowed him down however, with
the list of his competitive achievements ranging from motocross all the way
to rugby. He has also been the Varsity Boys track coach for Chatfield for
the last several years. For a complete big, photo gallery, and racing
