LaVallee, Bodin injured, out of Winter X Games

Team LaVallee freestyle teammates Levi LaVallee and Daniel Bodin will be forced to miss Winter X Games 2012 because of injuries sustained in separate training incidents during their preparations for the freestyle and best trick snowmobile competition.

LaVallee broke the tibia in his left leg and Bodin suffered a fractured vertebra but did not sustain any spinal cord damage and has full movement, according to a news release from Team LaVallee Inc. Bodin and LaVallee expect to make a full recovery, the release stated.

"I’m super bummed about Daniel and I getting hurt," LaVallee said in the release. "I was riding on a high after my record distance jump on New Year’s Eve and was pumped for Winter X. And Daniel was working hard to defend his gold medals from last year. I love our sport but it can be cruel sometimes. We will both be back as soon as possible."

Bodin won gold medals in the best trick and freestyle snowmobile events at last year’s Winter X Games 15.
