Innovative designs give riders access to trails and tougher mountain terrain

A trend in the automobile industry – crossover vehicles – is moving into the snowmobile business.

Ed Klim of the International Snowmobile Manufacturers Association said the snowmobile equivalent of the automotive crossover is a machine that’s equally at home on a flatland trail run or scaling the heights in the mountains.

These machines are gaining traction in areas such as Alberta, where riders have access to both trails and mountains, Klim said.
