All riders who tried this snowmobile are unanimous about one thing: the driving position is following the purest Polaris tradition. In fact, many snowmobilers had (and still have) problems with the new chassis concepts offered by manufacturers that place the pilot more forward on the machine, causing him discomfort. Along with comfort and versatility given by a 136 inches track, the IQ frame supporting the Switchback is one of the best compromises in the industry, proposing the advantages of mass centralization while keeping a more traditional driving position that pleases many snowmobilers.
Of course, our trial model left nobody indifferent with its bright red colour, chromed windshield and graphics which clearly identify the Dragon nature. With its 700 cc Cleanfire-Injection-4 engine developing more than 141 hp (power of many 800 cc), the Switchback offers breathtaking accelerations due to its 136 X 15 X 1.25 RipSaw track. In fact, the Dragon is so abrupt on the accelerator that it takes a few minutes to control it. But once the beast is controlled, you better watch out, this is serious matter! It is to note that using the Polaris VES Gold oil is strongly recommended, as well as a regular maintenance of the exhaust valves in order to optimize this engine performances. The electronic system needs to be levelled to avoid minor cuts, which can be made in a few minutes by your dealer.
