A backpack is very useful to carry tools, first aid kit, rope, water, shovel, and much more. There are different sizes available. I am looking for a compact and light model with several compartments. The bag must fit properly on you; it should give the feeling of not having anything on your back. My second suggestion is the shovel. There are sometimes situations where the shovel is handy. I recommend choosing a model that can be disassembled so it can fit in your backpack. You should have a shovel with a saw in the handle since you may have to cut trees to get out of a bad position. The shovel should be strong and light. Even if your shovel has a saw in it, I recommend having a small folding saw in your backpack or in the compartment of your snowmobile. Although little, this saw is very efficient and can be used to cut small trees or branches. It may save you from having to take your shovel out, and it's fast and compact! I recommend the STIHL because that's the one I use. There are many models available. Little safety tips, keep your gloves on when using it, snow can make the adherence more difficult.
The last item you might need is probably a pair of spare glasses. After an effort or a ride, moisture can form in your glasses. That's why it's handy to have another pair. This will make sure that you avoid an unpleasant situation while driving your snowmobile. There are many choices available. It is important to choose a model specially designed for off-trail riding. I suggest the Sinister X5, it's a 509 model that has been produced for more than ten years, and it has proven reliable.
