For your own safety, stay away from waterways!

The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec invites you to be extra careful

The snowmobiling season is slow in starting in most regions of Quebec this winter.  Despite several clubs being up and running, the mild weather of recent weeks has certainly not been conducive to freezing bodies of water.  If riding has begun in your area, the FCMQ wishes to remind you to be extra vigilant when appraching waterways and to cross only where there are clearly marked trails maintained by the local snowmobile club.

The best indicator of trail readiness is undoubtedly the official opening by local clubs.  At this critical period of the season, it is important to ride safely, respect the posted speed limits and refrain from consuming alcohol both before and during your outings. Club volunteers are hard at work getting the trails ready and as soon as the white carpet arrives, rest assured that they will provide access to the world’s foremost  snowmobile trail network.

Happy holidays and remember not to let your enthusiasm override your common sense.
The Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ) is the umbrella group which represents 80,000 individual members within its 207 member clubs, responsible for developing and maintaining the province’s 33,000 km of signed and groomed trails. The Federation, which counts on the dedication and contributions of over 4,500 volunteers, works in concert with the Ministère des transports to provide a framework for the sport and ensure the safety of its members. The FCMQ also partners with Tourisme Québec to promote the snowmobiling and is the main interlocutor between the Quebec snowmobiling community and the provincial government.
