ECS officials made the announcement today as preparations continue for the 2010-11 season opener at Burke Mountain.
here in the northeast are the true benefactors of this sponsorship. Woody’s is offering their "On-Site Racer Support Program" to help racers get access to Woody’s traction products. This program will allow racers to purchase competition traction products through ECS at a discounted rate. When studs, skegs and accessories are needed, Woody’s has the right stuff. Saving money on top-quality items always puts a smile on a racer’s face.
"We are proud to have the folks at Woody’s on board for our inaugural season," said Shawn Longbook, General Manager at ECS. "Woody’s has earned a reputation for quality products for a number of applications. As an industry leader, they are on the cutting edge of traction control products. At East Coast Snocross, we want to be the best regional tour on the planet. The philosophy at Woody’s is very much like our own, and I urge our fans to consider their products when purchasing items for their own sleds."
International Engineering and Manufacturing, Inc., based in Hope, Michigan, is known worldwide as the industry’s premier producer of snowmobile performance and safety traction products for rubber tracks. In the mid 1960s, the snowmobile industry was experiencing incredible growth, particularly in racing. For James Musselman and his partner Woody Kozlow, snowmobiling represented the key to future success.
During the 1960s, ice oval racers used three-corner files attached to ski bottoms in an effort to maintain control and win races. Using their knowledge of carbide wear characteristics, and by developing a process to attach the carbide to a metal base, Musselman and Kozlow developed the first pair of carbide runners and delivered them to local racer, Dana Wiltse. The runners proved to be a handling breakthrough, and soon racers throughout the region wanted a pair of "Woody’s®" runners.
As the 2010-2011 season opener at Burke Mountain (Dec. 11-12) draws closer, ECS would like to thank the following marketing partners for their support: PowerMadd; Morris County Marine; Ingles Performance, Island Water Sports; Choko apparel; Philbrick Motorsports; American Flatbread; Tatro Contracting; CJs Auto Body; Camara Slate Products; Pit-X; The Crank Shop; Sledwraps.com; New England Racing Fuels, Green Mountain Racing and Patenaude Pool Plasterers.
Racers on all three participating brands (Arctic Cat, Polaris and Ski-doo) will be looking to make a statement at the season opener. For the first time in years, all three have highly-skilled riders flying their colors. Parity among manufacturers is just what ECS hopes to see.
