I have friends living in Rimouski and since there was no more snow home in Eastern Townships, I called them to go snowmobiling with them, along with my friend Denise. The destination we chose was New Brunswick. I was very happy because I had been there earlier in the season and I had a great time! So, we put our snowmobiles in the trailer for a 5-hour road trip to spend 1 day on trail… Better not try to stop girls who like snowmobiling and who live in a place where there is no more snow.
We agreed to meet at a trail crossing near Rimouski, our point of departure. We were 7 snowmobiles, 3 girls and 4 boys. We left at 8:30 A.M. for New Brunswick. What a nice day, the sun was shining and snow was sparkling like diamonds. I said to myself that I would not want to be anywhere else but on this trail! We forget about everything when we are snowmobiling on those wonderful wide trails of New Brunswick; they incite to enjoy zenitude.
We had lunch at the Moose Valley Lodge, with good music and good food. In short, this is a nice place to spend good time and rest for a while in good company.
After a good meal and a short rest, we were ready to hit the trails again. We took trail # 17 and stopped at the Mount Farlagne. Snowmobile drags were announced for the evening but we could not stay because we had many kilometers left on our way back. But in the afternoon, we saw riders getting ready for that evening event.
We saw so beautiful landscapes as we were coming back. We passed many snowmobilers who had also decided to make the most of this beautiful day.
The signs are different in New Brunswick. A sign warns us to slow down to indicate an upcoming curve and a little further, an arrow indicates on which side the curve will go. It differs from the signs here in the Province of Québec, but we get used to it very quickly.
After a wonderful snowmobile ride in New Brunswick with super-friendly people from the Bas-du-Fleuve region, we were back in Rimouski with 475 additional kilometers on the meter and with our head full of lovely memories.
It has been a perfect day for my last ride of the season… I can’t wait for next winter. Who knows? Maybe I will visit New Brunswick again!
