Driving snowmobile in wildlife reserves in Quebec

The «Ministère des Ressources naturelles et de la Faune du Québec» (Quebec’s wildlife Ministry) will like to remind the snowmobilers that recreational snowmobiling in wildlife reserves is permitted under certain precise rules. Thus, the circulation of snowmobilers is permitted only in the following cases: when the snowmobiler drive throught identified snowmobile trails, tagged, or arranged for this purpose, participating in an activity organized by the Sépaq or one of his agents or a permit trapping professional which have tenant exclusive rights.

Existing regulations are designed to promote tranquility of the wildlife, to ensure the safety of users and to allow the trappers to pursue their activities.

Remember that wildlife protection agents will monitoring the snowmobilers activities throught all the province to ensure compliance with theses rules.

In addition, since the beginning of 2007, three people were found guilty of such an offense under Article 26 of «Règlement sur les réserves fauniques», for driving snowmobiles out Trails identified in the wildlife reserve in the Laurentians. each of them was fined for $ 250.
