Cold hands? Me too!

Whether it is just your personal reality, older age, reduced circulation or the effect of necessary medication, cold hands can be an unwelcome challenge for snowmobilers. I’m guessing that I may not be alone, COLD HANDS ARE NO FUN. This season with an offered discount, I had the opportunity to try a product from a company that makes high claims about being the solution to being cold.

First of all, it is important to be very accurate with the slightly confusing name of this company which has been in business since 2002.  It may offer products for comfort, but the name is CONFORTECK with an N as in CONFORTECK.com. Be sure to get their name correct or you may never discover all of the products that they offer. CoNforteck offers many varieties of heated gloves, jackets, vests, pants and boot insoles. They also offer every type of connection and controller to make it all keep you pleasantly warm.

Their most popular products are powered by the 12 volt system of your snowmobile, but they also offer a new line of light weight lithium battery powered items.

snowmobile Cold hands? Me too!

I selected their lithium battery powered glove liners because I thought that I might also use them in cold situations where I did not have the power from my sled as an option. Being a spectator and taking photos at special snowmobile events and snow shoveling came to mind.

Everything needed was included in the heated liner kit that I ordered.  Glove liners, Lithium battery with 4 power levels and double output adapter, Charger and “Y” power wire were all in the box.

I have never tried a heated device before and do not use a helmet with a heated shield, so having wires was/is a very foreign idea.  I have several riding friends who have electric helmet shields and they seem to easily adapt to being connected.

SledMagazine.com has a popular Columnist who has so many wires that I am surprised her sled has enough power for the headlight. Heated vest, heated gloves, electric helmet visor, She has them all! But for me wires were my hesitation and challenge.

The lithium battery (rated for up to 20 hours for liners on low setting) charged and controlled the heat level as described and the liners reacted with comfortable warmth all the way to the tips of my fingers .

I must admit that I still slightly struggle with the logistics of wires coming out of my sleeves and going to the battery in my pocket. I’m a frequent glove on and off guy and the liners and wires require a little more organization and thought.  It’s tough to teach and old dog new tricks and I definitely fall into that category. But the CONFORTECK liners work and that’s the point. Cold hands or a comfortable solution that includes wires, the choice is now ours with the many products offered by CONFORTECK.
