This outdoor centre located 45 minutes from Saguenay City, is on the west side of Monts Valin along the large Lake Tchitogama. In winter, snowmobilers get there by trail #367 or by local trails #484 and #902. Since December 2014, Centre plein-air Mont Vilain (formerly Scoobiraid) welcomes snowmobilers with high quality services of lodging and restaurant. Located on the western side of Monts Valin, more precisely in Lamarche, this relay can accommodate snowmobilers who come with their family or group to criss-cross in Monts Valin, or who come for a good meal or a warming place.
In January 2016, team members of SledMagazine.com have been welcomed by the owners, the charming Annick and friendly Martin. While we were enjoying a delicious meal, like the famous Tourtière du Lac, served by Annick in the dining room, Martin was telling us the story of the site. At first, it was a sawmill and at that time, logs were driven on rivers and on Lake Tchitogama. Today, the site is totally reorganized as an outdoor centre and a snowmobile relay. The amenities offered include restaurant, lodging in cabin and fuel supply, everything to accommodate snowmobilers.
Our meal was delicious and menu was diversified. The restaurant is famous for the Potence flambée offered only at night upon reservation. You must taste it ! The Centre plein-air Mont Vilain offers during other seasons many activities like camping, swimming, marina, hiking, VTT, fishing, etc.
