I had the opportunity to try out BRP’s Tec+ REC boots in collaboration with Imperium of Chicoutimi and SledMagazine.com.
The manufacturer’s features are very interesting. The boots are lightweight and designed to provide a high level of warmth while allowing great freedom of mobility. Furthermore, they are fitted with a removable lining as well as a sturdy and aggressive outsole. I paid special attention to validate these features during my tests, and I now give you my impressions.
As soon as I took the boots out of the box, I noticed that they were exceptionally light. As they are incredibly warm and designed for trail riding and long days in the cold, I decided to try them in the worst conditions possible. I wore them in freezing temperatures ranging from -30 to -35 degrees Celsius below zero.
Under no circumstances did I feel the cold during my outings. I was pleasantly surprised by the warmth and lightness of the boots. The sole provides a good grip on the running boards, and after multiple outings, I don’t see any noticeable wear and tear. This shows that they are well made. I also liked that I could remove the inner lining to dry them after a full day of snowmobiling.
In terms of comfort … they’re outstanding. As soon as I put my feet in the boots, it was as if I was wearing slippers! They are very flexible and allow for easy movement.
All the manufacturer’s features I mentioned at the beginning of this article turned out to be more than positive. If you’re looking for a pair of boots for your cold-weather outings, I recommend these Tec+ REC boots from BRP without hesitation.
Many thanks to Imperium of Chicoutimi and SledMagazine.com for allowing me to do this trial.
Have a good winter, and stay safe!
