Arctic Cat Thundercat 2019, a good trail sled!
We all agree that the Thundercat name is emblematic within the Arctic Cat brand. When we think of this name, we all remember the 1000cc 2-stroke 3-cylinder engine that was produced between 1998 and 2002.
Since then, Arctic Cat has come a long way. With the most powerful 4-stroke turbocharged engine in the industry, iACT suspension, Arctic Drive clutch system and all the expertise of the American manufacturer, here is the all-new Thundercat 137 in. 2019.
Under the hood, it’s a combination of precision and power. With these two elements, the retake in the curves is very good, and you literally feel propelled and even that sometimes I was amazed!
With its 10” front and 13” rear suspension, all under the iACT system, it provides a remarkable trail snowmobile.
Unfortunately, I noticed that there was some swaying on the straight lines; in my opinion, the carbide runners are not well adapted for this type of snowmobile.
However, when turning, it’s a lot of fun! We don’t feel the weight of the 4-stroke engine and the power delivered by this snowmobile is impressive. I must say that this snowmobile is not for beginners.
As for accessories, we have the same features as on the Limited models. Everything is there, even the heating bench — a little must in cold weather.
With all this power, the 137-inch Ripsaw track with 1-inch studs does a good job, but in my opinion, it lacked a lot of traction. I had the studded track, and yet I thought a little something was missing. I think a track with 1.25” or even 1.5” studs would have been perfect, but it remains a personal preference.
Once again, I thank Motoplex for the test and if you have any questions, don’t hesitate to visit their team, they will be happy to help you!
