ToggleOver the years, we often wondered which innovations manufacturers would offer to surprise us. We see many improvements to existing systems that may seem insignificant to some of us, but after a closer look, they appear to be changes that will guide and enhance standards of the future… Personally, I think that the new Team Rapid Response and Rapid Reaction clutches will be part of these modifications that will elevate clutches standards to the next level.
Rapid Reaction driven clutch and ball bearing
Here, the improvement is that there is no more adjustment needed to the height of the belt on the driven clutch. For the average snowmobiler, just replacing a belt is not easy. Then, you must adjust its height so that it is not too tightened and that the snowmobile tends to idle, nor too loose and that we feel like starting in second gear. This second factor also makes belt skid and wear prematurely. To realize it, both clutches have been modified. Engineers have added a ball bearing to the center of the driven clutch that supports the belt when the snowmobile is not moving. This way, the belt remains tightened at all time and there will not be any friction that would make the machine idle. Also, a properly tightened belt improves the efficiency at start and reduces the belt temperature, thus improves its service life.
Rapid Response drive clutch
To get a belt that is always properly tightened, engineers have removed the adjustment of the stance between both plates of the driven clutch, which continuously pushes the belt upwards and always keeps it with the proper tightness !!
