46th Annual Moosejaw Snowmobile Safari rides out Saturday

The 46th annual Moosejaw Safari will take place this coming Saturday, when local and visiting snowmobilers gather at the Harbor Springs SK8 Park and travel north to Center Township Hall in Lark’s Lake.

The event, which takes place each year on the third Saturday of January, culminates at the Bean Pot l, where riders and others – as many as 300 in past years – will gather for a meal before returning, on their own schedule, to Harbor Springs.

Pre-registration will begin at 8:30 am at the rink, and the group will begin its journey at 10 am. The event is free but donations are accepted. Funds raised are used by the Harbor Springs Snowmobile Club to groom local snowmobile trails.

Mixed conditions so far this season have led to a modified trail for the event, with planners removing a portion of a Good Hart loop, club brushing coordinator Dave Price said. The ride is still expected to last until about noon and will include several sightseeing stops along the route.

All are invited to join the group, which will feature several vintage snowmobiles, during the ride or at the lunch. To view a map of the trail, visit www.harborspringssnowmobileclub.com
