The Prince Edward Island Snowmobile Association is pleased to be one of the first groups on PEI to help in the 2014 year long "CREATION OF OUR NATION CELEBRATION". In 1864 the Father's of Confederation traveled to Charlottetown from what is now known as Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec and began the discussions on the formation of our great country we call Canada. To celebrate this historic event, the PEISA is proud to host a three day snowmobile tour of the entire province from tip to tip. We will be travelling on the well known "Confederation Trail" and visiting many of the small towns and villages this world-class trail passes through. With several hundred kilometers of perfectly groomed trails away from the Confederation trail, you will experience the beautiful aspects of our tiny province at a time of year that many people will never get to enjoy. This celebration is going to be a busy three days of great Island Hospitality, entertainment, terrific food and great people.
On the first day we will travel on the eastern trail system visiting small fishing villages and historic sites. We will return to the host hotel for a evening of history and lots of snowmobile discussion with our guest speaker.
On our second travel day we will head to the west end of the Island and view the well known "West Point Loop" with huge windmills and wide open potato fields. We will be staying at a hotel in Summerside where a night out at the Casino is planned for everyone's entertainment.
Our last day of sledding will be in the Central area of our province where we will be doing mostly well marked cross country trails through logging roads and coast line trails. We will end up back at host hotel early on the evening of Friday, February 21st.
We hope you are able to join us for this historic 150th year celebration, it will be a Ride to Remember. If we are lucky, we may even have a visit from the "Fathers of Confederation" themselves.
