With low levels of snow on the ground, Club Snow in the RM of Portage la Prairie is hoping for the best.
President Ken Penman says because of lack of snow they have to improvise some of the events they plan. He adds the trails still have to be looked after, making sure they are clear of tree branches and other obstructions. He notes some members have just been driving with their car or truck to check up on the trails.
Penman says the frustration is felt by everyone affected by the lack of snow on the ground. He adds normally, an avid snowmobiler will put up to 3,000 kms on their machine in any given winter.
Penman says Club Snow is hoping there will be enough snow for the Pink Ladies Ride for a Cure scheduled for February 25th. He adds the riding season might only last to the end of February, if we are lucky.
