New bridge Ontario-Québec

That’s right, there is a new bridge of 453 m in Portage-du-Fort, in the Pontiac sector of Outaouais region.

The Pontiac Snowmobile Drivers Association and VHR Outaouais have managed this issue since the beginning. An amount of 200 000 $ has been invested on the old Canadian National railway to allow snowmobilers of both shores to use this bridge for snowmobiling in Québec and Ontario.

Left to right : Mr Pierre Tremblay, Administrator of the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec (FCMQ), Mrs Denise Grenier, President of the FCMQ, Mr Alain Goulet, President of the Pontiac Snowmobile Drivers Association, Mr Stéphane Desroches, General Manager of  the FCMQ, Mr William Amos, Member of Parliament for Pontiac

They receive financial assistance from the FCMQ and from the Federal Government (Canada Economic Development for Québec Regions), for a total investment of about 200 000 $ to achieve this project.

This investment will bring significant economic benefits to both provinces, along with giving access to 33 000 kilometers of trails to Ontario visitors towards all regions of the Province of Québec.

Municipal politicians and Mr Rémi Sauvé, President of the Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs

Congratulations to the Fédération des clubs de motoneigistes du Québec and to the Federal Government (Canada Economic Development for Québec Regions) for this great initiative meant to continue good economic relationship between Ontario and Québec.
