My first trip to Monts-Valin!
At the beginning of January, I had the opportunity to attend snowmobile tests in the beautiful Saguenay region. I also collaborated in the shooting of videos for Motoneiges.tv. The Auberge du Km 31 was the perfect place for this event with plenty of snow!
I heard a lot about the Monts-Valin and the Auberge du Km 31 as exceptional places to practice snowmobiling. Whether on or off-trail, the beauty of the landscape and the phenomenal amount of snow are two of the characteristics of this region. We received a warm welcome and were able to enjoy the comfort of the chalets of the Auberge, as well as the meals offered.
During my stay, I had the opportunity to drive several models of snowmobiles. I even did my first few miles of off-trail! Wow, it seems so simple when you look at professionals, but, it’s very complicated and technical. Let’s say it will still take a lot of practice to master this driving.
My favorite snowmobile of the weekend is the 2019 Polaris Indy XC 2019 with the new 850 cc Patriot engine. What a trail animal! First, I loved the power of the 850 Patriot. The answer is instantaneous. It is not uncommon to see both skis leaving the ground for a few seconds.
Adopting a sportier driving style without fear of skidding is easy. The snowmobile has good acceleration, but also with deceleration. This is an aspect that should not be neglected on this type of vehicle. The suspensions do an excellent job of keeping the snowmobile on the ground for better handling. This Polaris 850 Indy XC 2019 is well designed and complete to offer a pleasant and exciting trail experience.
I enjoy other models during my stay, including the BRP Backcountry XRS and the Polaris 850 Switchback Assault 144. All exceptional sleds with different vocation.
I want to thank the Auberge du Km 31 for our beautiful stay. Feel free to visit their website for more information.
Special thanks to the entire SledMagazine.com team for this weekend!
