ToggleCKX kicks off 2025 with a bang by unveiling the all-new Titan AMS snowmobile helmet. Inspired by the AMS (Air Management System) from the Mission helmet, CKX engineers have reimagined and redesigned the key features of the original Titan and the Titan Air Flow to create a one-of-a-kind helmet. They’ve added innovations tailored to today’s snowmobiling experience.
A Mask-Free AMS System Inspired by the CKX Mission
Those who already own a Mission helmet are likely familiar with CKX’s “Air Management System” (AMS). In short, two air channels run through the helmet shell to vent moisture via an “air mask” attached to the visor in front of the face. CKX engineers, however, observed that the system still works great even without a mask. As a result, they’ve adopted a mask-free AMS system for the Titan AMS, while maintaining the original functionality. This allows it to adapt to all conditions—whether you’re on or off the trail. You can plug one of the rear air vents and swap the front of the external mask with a grid or removable cover. CKX is also working on an integrated mount for attaching a GoPro camera.
The Titan’s new AMS system borrows the Mission’s design but adds air channels at the top. These can be sealed if needed using a rubber plug placed in the upper rear port.
Redesigned Outer Mask for Greater Comfort
The Titan AMS’s outer mask also gets a major upgrade. It now opens using a hinge at the bottom, a key feature of the helmet. This makes it quick and easy to open for talking, drinking, or eating—something that wasn’t possible with the original Titan.
In trail setup—or simply when using the fabric trim around the mask—you had to remove your goggles to open it. The fabric under the goggles blocked the opening. With the Titan AMS, that’s now a thing of the past. The fabric trim now attaches to a rigid frame instead of the removable mask. It can be lowered while keeping the goggles in place.
The Titan AMS also retains the removable inner padding for machine washing. CKX has added “quick release” fabric tabs to quickly remove the cheek padding if needed. The chinstrap uses the same Pro-Clip system as before—arguably one of the best designs on the market.
The facial mask surrounding the goggles and outer mask has also been improved. The helmet’s peak has been redesigned as well: it’s now more aerodynamic and designed to break upon impact, improving rider safety.
Wide-View 210 Visor With Magnetic Lens
Another great upgrade involves the 210 visor and goggle system, known for its wide field of vision. The helmet now comes pre-wired to accommodate magnetic visors, which are easily interchangeable—even with gloves on. Heated visors benefit from the same design. A simple plastic flap on each side makes lens removal a breeze, and you can attach the new lens immediately. No wires to plug or unplug.
Thanks to the magnetic lenses, switching out the visor is lightning fast, whether you’re using heated or standard lenses. The heated lens has also been reengineered to improve energy efficiency—by 30%! For off-trail adventures, goggles with rechargeable batteries are available. The heating intensity is adjustable, allowing users to manage battery life more effectively when using battery-powered lenses. The helmet’s power indicator light has also been relocated—from the outside to the inside. It’s now placed at the upper right corner of the goggles for better visibility.
Technical Enhancements for Optimal Performance
Engineers have redesigned the nose shield, making it more comfortable and better suited for different face shapes. The helmet now comes with two interchangeable insulating foams—one open, one more closed—so users can tailor the helmet to their needs based on riding conditions. A magnetic wire connection is now available instead of the traditional plug-in cable. This makes connecting the helmet easier and helps prevent damage if you fall off your snowmobile or forget to unplug before getting off.
A Better Helmet Than the Best Helmet
CKX clearly analyzed the strengths and shortcomings of the original Titan—which was a revolution in its own right. With the new Titan AMS, CKX delivers an upgraded, well-thought-out, and visually appealing helmet. They’ve eliminated several moving parts to simplify the design while offering even more options. Three versions will be available: the standard version, the heated version, and the Pro version. The first two will be available in carbon, but the Pro version will only come in carbon. It will include a photochromic magnetic lens, a heated lens, and a battery pack for wireless use. The Titan AMS will be available in fall 2025—just in time for next season.
